Our Story

At the E.H. Mott Learning Center, we believe every learner has the potential to succeed—sometimes, they just need the right support to help them shine. As a non-profit specialized private learning center, we are committed to empowering at-risk youth and their caregivers through innovative, personalized educational programs.

Our mission is to provide life-changing services that foster resilience, positive behavior, and a lifelong love of learning. We focus on nurturing social, emotional, and academic growth, helping each learner build strong interpersonal skills, develop pro-social friendships, and gain the confidence needed to envision and work toward a brighter, more productive future. By promoting responsibility, pride, and achievement, we guide students to see themselves as valuable contributors to their communities.

In Loving Memory of Eudeen Hamer Mott

The learning center proudly bears the name of Eudeen Hamer Mott, a beloved sister, gifted educator, and extraordinary human being, who passed away on August 8, 2014.

Eudeen’s teaching journey began in 1974 at Edison Middle School in Gary, Indiana. Over the decades, she dedicated her life to public education in Florida—first in Broward County Public Schools (1981–1990) and then in Orange County Public Schools (1990–2010). Her talent and commitment earned her numerous accolades, including Teacher of the Year at both Banyan Elementary (1983–84) and Windermere Elementary (1992–93), and the prestigious Disney Teacherrific Award in both 1993 and 2000 while at Lakeville Elementary School.

Beyond the classroom, Eudeen was a published author, painter, public speaker, and a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of compassion, creativity, and educational excellence lives on through every learner we serve.
